K-Pop Dance Choreography

How can we understand and create the expressive, synchronized movements that define K-Pop dance? K-Pop Dance Choreography research aims to build intelligent frameworks that generate, adapt, and control dance movements characteristic of K-Pop, unlike existing manual and labor-intensive creation processes. Such choreography generation and editing approaches can be widely applied to digital performance media, virtual concerts, and interactive cultural content. This research explores methodologies that automate and support choreography creation while preserving K-Pop’s stylistic richness and cultural specificity.

We mainly focus on multimodal generative modeling to align dance movements with text, music beats, and reference styles. Our approach also includes group choreography models that capture inter-dancer dynamics to produce synchronized sequences. To ensure dance motion quality, we implement motion similarity analysis to assess choreography quality, originality, and style alignment. We are currently building interactive tools that support choreography editing and visualization, enabling creators to design high-quality dance performances efficiently.
