LAVA Lab received the Best Demo Honorable Mention Award for their demo, “Visibility Modulation of Aligned Spaces for Multi-User Telepresence,” at the 2024 IEEE ISMAR conference, held from October 21-25 in Bellevue, Seattle.
Demo Summary
The demo showcased research on a multi-user Mixed Reality (MR) telepresence system, which dynamically modulated the visibility of users’ rooms based on their locations. For the live demonstration, assets were applied by scanning a room at the Hilton hotel, where the conference was held, adding realism by positioning one of the lab members in the virtual space to welcome participants. The demo received an enthusiastic response from participants, highlighting possible future applications in MR collaboration and interaction.
