LAVA Lab participated in Stage 4, “I Didn’t,” of the <X-Space> performance at Daejeon Arts Center on September 28, 2024. This event was a collaboration between KAIST and Daejeon Arts Center, attended by an audience of 200.
Performance Details
The stage “I Didn’t” was created through a collaboration between LAVA Lab, bipole, and MOVIN. Using AI-based motion capture and movement-driven generative AI, the system analyzes dancers’ movements in real-time, generating new motions that are projected onto the stage. This approach allows audiences to observe both the dancer’s chosen movements and alternate, unselected possibilities. The performance highlights the interplay between dancer and AI in creating movement, while also reflecting the continuous choices that shape human life.
